Bath Abbey amazingly survived the Reformation and the second world war, when Bath was heavily bombed.

There is much to see - The East Window, the magnificent vaulted ceiling, the remains of the previous Norman Cathedral and the window commemorating the crowning in 973AD of Edgar, the first King of England.

Although entry is free, visitors are requested to donate £3.50 in return you are given a very helpful map of the interior
