TweetFrom the Bath & Dundass Canal Company’s base at Brass Knocker Basin, Monkton Combe, you can join the Kennet & Avon Canal beside the magnificent Dundass Aqueduct which carries the canal over the River Avon; you can travel either on foot, or by bike or boat. You then have the choice to travel towards the Georgian city of Bath via the tunnels of Sydney Gardens; or travelling through the quiet hamlet of Avoncliff towards the town of Bradford-on-Avon. Either route will take you through beautiful countryside with plenty of opportunities to spot local wildlife and places of historical interest.
Electronically powered day boats, or Canadian canoes can be hired, with prices starting at £45 per half day for a boat suitable for 2 adults and 2 children, and £10 for the first hour for a canoe suitable for a maximum of 3 adults, (or 2 adults and 2 children).

The Bath & Dundass Canal Company have a large selection of bikes for hire, together with child seats, trailers and tag-a-longs. Adult prices start from £7 an hour for the first hour, plus £1 for each additional hour, up to £14 for the whole day. (A deposit covering the full cost of the equipment hired is required, this can be done by providing a valid credit card number, but the hire fee must be paid with the same card if that is the case). The canal tow path is ideal for cycling.
