Description:
BA1 Records, City of Bath College’s own record label, is to host a special concert on Friday 02 March to raise funds for Ukrainian orphans that are HIV positive.
The concert will be called Heart2Heart and is the brainchild of Ukrainian student Dariya Silko, who now studies Business at the University of Bath following the completion of a course at City of Bath College. Dariya was inspired to help after visiting an orphanage at Donetsk in the Ukraine when she was upset and moved by the plight of the young children who live there, many of whom have been left at the orphanage by their parents who are HIV positive.
She approached BA1 records and asked them to host the event which she hopes will raise money to pay for medication and support for the Donetsk children.
Heart2Heart will feature performances from several BA1 acts as well as from University of Bath musicians. The confirmed artists include Bite the Buffalo, Tallis Morris, The HST, Peyote, Grace, The Cerulean and Mark Ingram. The DJs will be Bristol bass legends Gatekeeper and Arkist, both of whom are receiving airplay on BBC Radio One.
Heart2Heart will take place at The Tub, the University of Bath nightclub, on Friday 02 March, from 8.00PM until 2.00AM. Tickets cost £3 in advance or £4 on the door and can be purchased from the College shop or ordered by emailing Dariya at ds440@bath.ac.uk.
